Andesite Pavers

Andesite paving stone is a construction material known for its durability and aesthetic appearance and is often preferred as an alternative to basalt paving stone. Andesite stone is a flooring material obtained by processing andesite, a tuff-like volcanic rock. The production process of this stone, which is used in construction and landscaping projects, is carried out very carefully and precisely.

Andesite Paving Stone Production Process:

  1. Raw Material Selection: The production of andesite pavers begins with the selection of quality andesite blocks. These blocks are extracted from quarries in volcanic areas and blocks that meet high quality standards are carefully selected.
  2. Cutting and Shaping: Selected andesite blocks are taken to workshops for cutting and shaping processes. Here, blocks are cut into desired sizes and shapes using advanced cutting equipment such as ST machines. A certain margin of error (such as +-2 mm) is accepted during the cutting process, ensuring that the stones are smooth and of standard sizes.
  3. Sizing: Cut and shaped stones are sized in accordance with the requirements of the project. They are cut to the desired dimensions with special tools such as a beheading machine.
  4. Surface Treatment: Various surface treatments are applied to andesite paving stones to give them an aesthetic appearance and extra durability. These processes may include techniques such as polishing, flaring and sandblasting. The processes create a non-slip and aesthetic surface while preserving the natural texture of the stone.
  5. Final Control: After all production stages are completed, andesite paving stones are subjected to quality control. At this stage, the compliance of the products with the standards in terms of size, shape and aesthetics is re-evaluated.

Andesite Paving Stone Features:

  • Durability: Since andesite has a dense and hard structure, it has excellent resistance to abrasion and impacts.
  • Non-Slip Surface: The natural texture of andesite stone provides an anti-slip surface.
  • Aesthetic Appearance: Andesite can have gray, brown and sometimes greenish tones and provides a natural aesthetic.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Since andesite pavers are a natural material, they are a sustainable option.
  • Easy Maintenance: It is easy to maintain and clean due to its smooth and hard surface.
  • Color Durability: Andesite is highly resistant to color fading and maintains its long-term aesthetic appearance.
  • Various Uses: Andesite pavers can be used in various outdoor projects, pavements, walkways, garden landscaping and public areas.
  • Heat Resistance: Andesite stone is resistant to heat.
  • Low Water Absorption: Since its water absorption is low, it remains intact even during frost and thaw cycles.

These properties make andesite pavers a durable and visually appealing option and make it considered a popular material among architects and engineers.

Andesite stone is a type of volcanic rock and is generally dark in color. Andesite, named after the Andes Mountains, is in the class of magmatic rocks and generally has a moderate silica (SiO2) content. With these features, it shows similar properties to basalt stone, but it is generally lighter in color and its granules may be larger than basalt.
