Basalt Slabs

Basalt slab stone is a durable building material used especially for floor coverings, flooring and cladding. Due to this stone’s durability and aesthetic appeal, it has become a common choice in construction projects, landscaping and stone paving applications.

Basalt Slab Stone Production Process:

  1. Selection of Basalt Blocks: The production process begins with the selection of large blocks extracted from the basalt quarry. The quality and size of these blocks determine the quality of the final product.
  2. Processing with gang saw machine: Selected basalt blocks are processed with gang saw machine. At this stage, the edge surfaces of the blocks are cut shapelessly and to the desired thickness.
  3. Shaping with a Sizing Machine: The cut blocks are cut to the desired dimensions with a sizing machine. This step ensures that the sheets have the desired size.
  4. Surface Treatment: The sized basalt plates are subjected to the desired surface treatment using a polishing machine. This process gives the boards a special look and feel. Surface treatments include options such as Honing, Patinato and Mucarta. While honing makes the surface flat and smooth, Patinato and Mucarta processes are used to provide an aesthetic appearance.

Basalt slab stone is an ideal option for those who want to create long-lasting and eye-catching designs with its durability and natural beauty.

Basalt plate stone is a durable and aesthetic building material made from basalt, a natural volcanic rock.

Features of Basalt Plate Stone:

  • Durability: Basalt is an extremely durable material. Due to its hard structure, it is resistant to external factors and has a long life.
  • Aesthetic Appearance: Basalt plates offer an aesthetic appearance with their unique color and texture. It is usually found in black, gray or brown tones.
  • Hardness: Basalt has a high hardness rating, which means it is resistant to scratches and abrasions.
  • Freeze-Thaw Resistance: Basalt plates are resistant to freezing and thawing cycles. Therefore, it is suitable for use in cold climates or freeze-thaw conditions.
  • Non-slip: Its surface may be rough, creating a non-slip floor. Therefore, it is widely used as flooring material.
  • Easy Maintenance: Basalt slabs are generally easy to clean and maintain. They do not require frequent cleaning.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Since it is a natural material, it is an environmentally friendly option.
  • Weight: Basalt slabs can be quite heavy, so they can be more difficult to install and transport than other materials.
  • Different Sizes and Shapes: Basalt plates can be found in different sizes and shapes, providing design flexibility.

Basalt slabs are sheets or slabs obtained by cutting and flattening naturally occurring basalt stone. Basalt plates are a building material that is durable, hard and suitable for various areas of use.

Usage Areas of Basalt Plates:

  • Road and Pavement Coatings: Basalt plates are widely used in the coating of roads and pavements. Thanks to their durability, they can withstand heavy traffic and pedestrian traffic.
  • Landscaping: They are used for garden paths, terraces, water features and landscaping. They adapt to the environment with their natural appearance.
  • Wall Coverings: Used in wall coverings indoors and outdoors. It offers an aesthetic appearance and is long-lasting.
  • Floor Coverings: They are used in floor coverings in industrial areas, sports fields and public places. They provide a safe floor thanks to their non-slip properties.
  • Kitchen Countertops and Sink Tops: Basalt plates can be used on surfaces such as kitchen countertops and sink tops. They are durable and easy to clean.
  • Interior and Exterior Covering: Apart from wall coverings, they can also serve many indoor covering functions such as flooring, countertops, fireplace coverings.
  • Pool Coverings: Basalt plates can be used to cover the perimeter of pools. They are resistant to the effects of water and sun.
  • Restaurant and Cafe Tables: Basalt plates are preferred as the top surface of restaurant and cafe tables. It is heat resistant when used in places where hot meals are served.
  • Sea Walls and Piers: Basalt plates can be used for sea walls, piers and other marine structures. It is resistant to sea water and salty environment.

The durability, aesthetic appeal and versatile use of basalt plates make them preferred in many different sectors. Areas of use may vary depending on project needs and design preferences.
